Royal Welsh Winter Fair

Despite torrential weather the WBCS stand was very busy over the two days of the Royal Welsh Winter Fair.

Exhibiting on the stand was a cow and calf from Ken Ellis and family, Ynysfor Herd and a bull from the Young Member Ambassador Ben Reynolds. The society offers thanks to both for their hard work to bring their animals which provided great promotion of the breed and the society.

Sally Lloyd had also organised a raffle - a chance to win a signed 'Scarletts' rugby ball from Gareth Davies.  The raffle was drawn on Tuesday by Society President Mrs Nerys Ellis and the lucky winner was Kitty Bodily from Abergavenny.  The proceeds were for society funds.

There was a good turnout in the Welsh Black competition classes.  Well done to Carwyn Lewis and family on their success and for winning the Champion Welsh Black heifer.  Congratulations also to Huw Jones for winning Reserve Champion with his home bred steer.
