Royal Welsh Winter Fair

On the Society's Breed Promotion Stand at the Royal Welsh Winter fair a pair of heifer calves drew much attention to the breed.  They were brought by Charlotte Reynolds of Cinders Farm, Tenbury Wells.  The stand was also visited by HRH Princess Ann who was welcomed by Mrs Charlotte Reynolds along with Society President, Miss Lorraine Howells BSc (Hons) and Society Chairman, Mr Robert Jones.

Winners in the Pedigree Welsh Black heifer class were:

1st RHUDDEL BANON DDU, exhibited by Mr Ian Lewis, Gwarcoed Einon, Llanybydder, Carmarthenshire that was bred by Colin Evans, Rhuddel Herd.

2nd TREFYCHAN-AR-DAF DYLIS 14TH, a home bred animal exhibited by Nigel Morgans, Park View, Whitland, Carmarthenshire.

3rd CWMTYNANT EIRLYS 17TH, a home bred animal exhibited by Mr E Evans a’i gwmni of Tynant, Talybont, Ceredigion.

 Winners of the Pedigree Welsh Black Steer class were:

1st MORLAIS KING KONG, exhibited by Mr Ian Lewis, Gwarcoed Einon and bred by Mr Hywel Davies, Morlais Herd.

2nd WAEDOG MACSEN 12TH, a home bred steer exhibited by Mr Emyr Wyn Jones a’i feibion, Rhiw Waedog, Bala, Gwynedd.

3rd FELIN-CEIRO TEIFY 21ST, exhibited by Will, Meinir & Angharad Davies, Brynglas, Ponterwyd, Ceredigion and bred by E & E Botwood.

 Mr Nigel Morgans, Park View, Whitland, Carmarthenshire also gained a 2nd prize and a RWAS rosette in the Baby Beef/Native heifer section with TREFYCHAN-AR-DAF DYLIS 16TH
